What Are the Sources of Solar Heating?

In cold countries like Europe and the United States, most electricity is being consumed on heating devices such as water, pool or simple room heater. This electricity burns too many fuels thus polluting the atmosphere and destroying the ozone layer. It is therefore wise to use solar heating both at home and in business establishments or offices. This use of renewable energy doesn’t only help save Mother Nature but also cuts down household cost and further increase savings.

There are three primary sources of solar heating: thermal, photovoltaic and parabolic. Thermal solar heating requires thick walls and thick ceilings (with thermal mass) that can absorb heat during the day and then bring them out at night. Photovoltaic is the combination of light and electric current. This requires a solar panel that will capture the energy from the sun and then gets converted to alternating current that can be used at home. Parabolic, on the otherhand, makes use of parabolic dish to capture the energy from the sun then can later be used for cooking or for bath
